Surgical Intelligence Platform

Surgery has evolved.
The intelligence behind it
hasn't. Until now.

Every year, over one million joint replacement surgeries are performed with incomplete information — before, during, and after the procedure. Large, first generation robots, and developing second generation mini-robots, are costly, bulky, and ASC prohibitive, and still don't offer the information required for improved patient outcomes. COIBA is building programmable, disposable robots with Artificial Intelligent Agents to change that.

What We're Building

Surgical Intelligence for all stages of patient care

COIBA is developing a platform that gives surgeons intelligence information to better treat patients — not just for the operating room, but across the entire patient surgical journey. From the moment a surgery is planned to long after the surgery is performed.

We believe the future of joint surgery isn't bigger robots. It's surgeons with precise real-time information, at every step.

Our Seed Round is well on its way.

We have raised a substantial round to move us into development and onto the next stage of capitalization. Join us in building the next major disruption in orthopaedic surgery.

The Team

Built by surgeons, executives, and engineers

COIBA was founded by a team with first-hand experience in orthopaedic surgery, start-up with successful previous exits, medical device commercialization and software development. We understand how to overcome problems because we've lived it.

Our Mission

Give every surgeon
intelligence information
at every step.

Joint replacement surgery is one of the most common procedures in medicine — and one of the least supported by intelligent technology. COIBA exists to change the standard of care.

The Problem

Surgeons operate with incomplete information

Today's joint replacement surgery is largely disconnected across its three phases. Pre-operative planning, intraoperative surgical execution, and post-operative monitoring happen in silos — with little intelligence linking them together.

Existing technology is either too expensive and cumbersome for most operating rooms, implant specific with no flexibility, lacks pre-operative intelligence and intra-operative soft tissue balancing, and doesn't learn from outcomes. Surgeons are left with experience alone, with no feedback loop to improve over time.

Our Approach

A platform built around the surgeon

COIBA is building a platform that connects all three phases of joint surgery into a single intelligent system — one that learns from each procedure, adapts to each surgeon's style, and improves outcomes over time.

Our technology, developed with input from practicing orthopaedic surgeons, is designed to be accessible across hospital and ambulatory surgical center settings — not just elite academic institutions.

Intelligence across the full surgical continuum

Pre-Operative
AI Planning

Surgeons access AI-assisted planning tools that account for patient anatomy, imaging data, and historical outcomes — before the patient enters the OR.

Imaging Analysis Surgical Simulation AI Planning Assistance Surgeon Specific Surgical Learning
Intra-Operative
Execute with real-time intelligence

The platform provides intraoperative guidance and real-time feedback, enabling surgeons to adapt the plan in the moment based on live data.

Post-Operative
Learn from every outcome

Patient outcomes and surgeon decisions are fed back into the system, creating a continuous learning loop that improves future cases.
